A lot of Newcastle United fans have been drawn to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge in their reported interest of Darwin Nunez.
According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Eddie Howe’s side are believed to be considering a potential £50m bid for the Uruguayan as they aim to bolster their attacking options.
Would Nunez be a good Wilson replacement?
Yes
No
Claims emerged last week suggesting the Toon had been informed it would take a bid in excess of £50m to tempt Benfica to part with their 22-year-old striker.
And just days on from that report, these fans flocked to Twitter as it was suggested the Magpies are potentially going to follow up on Benfica’s estimation.
What did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“Now,The Big Boys are playing !”
The report comes amid Howe’s injury concerns over star striker Callum Wilson which surfaced during their previous Premier League outing, which may see the Englishman miss a number of months of action.
And given the 22-year-old’s bright start to the campaign in Portugal, with 13 goals in as many games, it seems these fans feel he could be the man to fill in for Wilson during his time on the sidelines.
