A whole host of Newcastle United fans were very happy on Twitter with Fabrizio Romano’s Kieran Trippier update.
It may have come as a blow to some Newcastle fans on Sunday to see their reported transfer target Trippier start and play 90 minutes for Atletico Madrid, however, he appeared to wave goodbye to their fans after the match, in what could be a signal of him leaving the club imminently.
Will Newcastle sign Trippier?
Yes!
No!
Trippier has been linked with a move to Tyneside in recent weeks, and with Sky Sports claiming that a bid had been lodged last week, Romano has reported that the England international is now ‘getting closer’ to becoming the club’s first signing under PIF ownership.
A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter are excited following Romano’s update.
What have these Newcastle fans been saying?
“Still doesn’t feel real that we’re doing more than waiting until Deadline Day to make our moves”
“Get it done. Get Tarkowski in and a striker and a central midfielder. Bobs your uncle. Eddie Howes at the wheel.”
“Get it done. New era begins”
“SIUUUUUU”
“Let’s gooooooo”
“GET INNNNNN”
Being able to sign an England international who was named in the WhoScored La Liga Team of the Season last campaign when Newcastle are 19th in the Premier League and two points from safety shows the ambition and pull the club now has under their new ownership.
