A whole host of Newcastle United fans are furious on Twitter with Fabrizio Romano’s Sven Botman update.
There is no secret that Newcastle have identified Sven Botman as their number-one defensive target this transfer window, having already seen two bids rejected by Lille and the French club seemingly holding out for £45 million.

Botman excited fans last week by liking a picture on Instagram of Kieran Trippier in a Newcastle shirt, but Romano has revealed what AC Milan director Frederic Massara has said on the situation surrounding Botman, as they are reportedly the Magpies’ rivals to sign the centre-back.
As per Romano, Massara claimed on Sky: ‘Sven Botman’s an amazing centre back but I think Lille have no intention to sell him in January.’
Romano followed this up by stating that Lille are still insisting that Botman is not for sale and that a loan deal is not an option for any club.

If Newcastle managed to persuade Lille to sell their star centre-back this summer, it would see Eddie Howe improve half of his back four within the opening weeks of the transfer window as they look ahead to their relegation clash with Watford this weekend.
