A number of Newcastle United fans have been left rather upset after seeing their club linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and some of his teammates.
With the January transfer market now open, the Magpies finally have the opportunity to spend some of their newfound wealth on the squad as they hope to avoid the drop.
It looks as though one club they may look to recruit from is Arsenal. Indeed, according to a report in The Telegraph (via The Mirror), Eddie Howe’s team are weighing up a potential four-man raid of the Gunners, that could seem them try and sign Rob Holding, Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny, as well as former club captain Aubameyang.
Should NUFC sign Mohamed Elneny?
Yes
No
The news was shared on social media by NUFC360 but it wasn’t greeted with much positivity from a lot of NUFC supporters.
Here’s what these Newcastle fans had to say…
“Mood ruined.”
Arsenal are performing pretty well in the league of late – and currently sit inside the top four as a result – so this may explain why Newcastle want to go for their players.
Aubameyang is arguably the most high-profile name among the list of targets and it does seem as if that deal would be possible. After all, his falling-out with Mikel Arteta has reportedly left him up for sale this winter.
However, whether it be the Gabon striker or any other of the listed Gunners, it doesn’t seem as if these Magpies fans are interested.
