A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest injury update to emerge from Marcelo Bielsa’s latest press conference.
The Athletic’s Leeds correspondent, Phil Hay, relayed Bielsa’s comments ahead of their clash on Saturday as the Argentine revealed that both Joe Gelhardt and Tyler Roberts could be fit enough to return – while Rodrigo has emerged from last weekend’s win unscathed.
Who would you rather see start?
Tyler Roberts
Joe Gelhardt
Rodrigo
Leeds face a big clash against one of the sides battling against relegation in Newcastle United, with the Toon looking to add to their single victory this season.
And with Patrick Bamford unavailable for the game at Elland Road on the weekend, these fans were clearly delighted to hear of Gelhardt’s availability, in particular.
What did these fans have to say?
“One week of Joffy without Roberts is all I ask”
Gelhardt suffered an ankle injury in training a couple of weeks ago, but could look to add to his one goal and three assists in the Premier League against the league’s second-worst defence.
Leeds have heavily relied on Raphinha’s goals this season in the absence of Bamford, and it is clear these fans are delighted to see Bielsa will have some further firepower to choose from at the weekend.
