Leeds United fans have been reacting to the performance of Tyler Roberts during their recent game in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men suffered a 1-0 defeat at Elland Road at the weekend to Newcastle United in a game that you could argue was a relegation six-pointer given the proximity of both sides to the relegation zone in the Premier League heading into the game.

Leeds United’s efforts on the day weren’t helped – at least in the eyes of the supporters who were commenting online – by the performances of players like Roberts. According to these fans, he didn’t have the best of times against Eddie Howe’s men, having come on in the final 20 minutes to try and make an impact on the game.

Which comedian supports the Whites?

In his brief appearance, he didn’t get away a single shot, completed just 33% of his passes, was dispossessed once and didn’t win an interception or aerial duel (via WhoScored).

It wasn’t exactly the impact he probably would have been hoping for off the bench, which led to a torrent of criticism of him from supporters online:

“Fed up of people defending Tyler Roberts. He lost us the game. Look at it – as soon as he comes on, the flow of the team is out of the window. STOP DEFENDING SOMEONE WHO CLEARLY MAKES NO EFFORT TO IMPROVE.”

“Although Tyler Roberts was abysmal ofc :)”
“Tyler Roberts shouldn’t even be in the squad”
“Tyler Roberts please leave the club”
“I would love to have a conversation with Bielsa. I would ask him what he sees in Tyler Roberts because 36,000 fans disagree. He is shocking”
“If you’re trying to defend Tyler Roberts at this point your opinion on anything football-related is now irrelevant.”
“Someone please name a worse and least effective player than Tyler roberts GOOO”
“Whatever the question, Tyler Roberts is never the answer”

Should Leeds sell Tyler Roberts?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Let’s just hope the 23-year-old doesn’t have many more of these performances moving forward, or Leeds United might find themselves slipping further and further towards the drop.
