Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding the future of young defender Cody Drameh and the January transfer window.

A recent claim from noted transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano suggested that Drameh was on his way to Championship side Cardiff City on loan for the rest of the season.

Drameh joined the club in the summer of 2020 and has predominantly featured for the club’s academy side, but has crept his way into the senior XI on a few occasions. But at the age of 20, now is the time that the club need to start looking at getting him some regular first-team football in order to aid his development.

And now according to Romano that deal is one step closer to being completed, as he tweeted out that Drameh “will undergo his medical tomorrow and then he’ll be announced as new Cardiff City player. Agreement completed with Leeds, confirmed.”

The news generated some interesting responses from Leeds fans when they saw it come across their timelines, with the majority of them furious that the club are allowing him to leave given the current situation at the club:

“We’re a joke of a club atm”
“I give up, #lufc have lost the plot. I’m disgusted with our approach to this season. Happy to finish 4th bottom. That’s me done”
“Here’s an idea lads squad down it’s bare bones with injuries let’s send a player out on loan…….. Surely they is a plan here”
“This makes no sense whatsoever”
“Why we loaning players out during an injury crisis? Madness”
“Absolute joke considering our injuries at the minute”
“Given the injuries crazy”

Do Leeds United need a bigger squad?

No

Although, whether or not this is the smartest move for Leeds United to make given the severe number of injuries within the side, we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully, they included a recall clause in the deal just in case they need Drameh back desperately at any point.
