Leeds United fans have been reacting to an update from journalist Graham Smyth regarding the club’s plans for the January transfer window.

Leeds have certainly struggled both on and off the pitch of late. They have only won four league games all season on the pitch, whilst off it, they have recently been struggling to put a team together for a number of reasons, which has meant a few of their games have had to be called off due to a lack of numbers.

For both of those reasons, you would imagine that they would be busy in the transfer market as they look to make things right.

Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

There have been multiple reports of players being linked to them this window, but as yet, the only arrival through the door has been Mateo Joseph Fernandez, who will join up with the club’s U23 side.

In response to a fan on Twitter asking about news on new signings, Smyth responded by saying: “They’re active. Things are ‘progressing’ we’re told.”

The news delighted many Leeds United fans when they saw it come across their timelines, excited at the prospect that deals might be made soon:

“Cheers pal That’s the most we’ve heard so far”

“Very interesting! We’ve seen a host of names been ruled out, the kid from Barca and O’Brien only two I’ve not seen ruled out yet. Diaz, Cantwell, Barkley, Kamara , swift etc not happening… very excited and intrigued #lufc”
“Victors just turned his computer on”
“That’s good to hear”
“Graham with the news we want to hear”
“Sounds promising – maybe we can crack open Simon Grayson’s war chest and see how those irons in the fire are doing!”
“New incomings no panic. @andrearadri ain’t daft.”
“Thank god”

Do Leeds need to sign a new striker?

Of course, there’s still plenty of time for deals to be completed before the end of the window, but Leeds will need to get them in as soon as possible in order to help them steer clear from a relegation battle.
