Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding a potential bid for Lewis O’Brien late in the January transfer window.
Leeds have been showing an interest in the 23-year-old midfielder for some time now, with reports as far back as the summer claiming that they were even ‘closing in’ on the deal, although it ultimately failed to materialise.
However, it looks as if that interest has been maintained since then, with reports suggesting (The Sun on Sunday, print edition, 30/1, page 62, via MOT Leeds News) that Marcelo Bielsa’s men ‘are prepared to pay the midfielder’s £10m buyout clause’.
The midfielder could offer up an extra body in the middle of midfield – an area that the club are particularly short in right now – and might prevent the club from having to go through a major crisis once again before the season is out.
News of the late potential bid was relayed to Leeds fans by @Leeds_Xtra for them to react to, and it’s safe to say some of these fans are rather excited.

Of course, with it being Deadline Day, time is very much of the essence if the club are going to be able to get the deal done in time, we’ll just have to wait and see if they end up getting something done.
