A large number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to share their frustrations with the performance of Daniel James on Saturday afternoon.
The Yorkshire side went into the game at Elland Road with the opportunity to pull clear of the Premier League strugglers, Newcastle United, with a win potentially taking them as high as twelfth.
Should James be starting up front?
Yes
No
Leeds’ 24-year-old winger was awarded a yellow card in the second half of the game after fouling the Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka having failed to close the Slovakian down in time.
Considering Eddie Howe’s side came into the game at Elland Road with the second-worst defensive record in the Premier League, it was apparent James’ efforts up top had left these fans frustrated.
What did these Leeds fans have to say?
“If Dan James didn’t have pace he’d be in league 1, head of a Sunday league player”
James has had a difficult season in front of goal with just two goals to his name in the 19 appearances he has made in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).
With Patrick Bamford out through injury, the Welshman has played a number of games as the sole-striker, however, he is yet to find the back of the net playing in that position and the patience of these fans is clearly wearing thin.
