Plenty of Leeds United fans have been left relieved after hearing Junior Firpo is feeling better after having to come off with a head injury in the FA Cup.

Over the weekend, Marcelo Bielsa’s men crashed out of the competition in the third round, suffering a 2-0 loss against West Ham United.

The game was ultimately settled by goals from Manuel Lanzini and Jarrod Bowen, but in the 69th minute, Firpo was ‘forced off with suspected concussion’ and had to be replaced by Cody Drameh for the remainder of the match.

Head injuries are often cause for concern regarding player welfare, but thankfully, the Leeds left-back took to Twitter after the game to provide a positive update on his status.

Indeed, Firpo explained that while he ‘was a bit dizzy’ at the time, and so went off as a precaution, he is now feeling well. After learning of the update, many supporters seemed to be very glad to hear the defender is okay.

Here’s what these Leeds fans said…

“Thank god for that, getting better each game.”

“Phew!!!”
“So glad you’re ok Junior MOT.”
“Glad you are ok! Roll o next weekend”
“Good to hear you’re feeling better. You put a good shift in today.”
“Good news that ok junior, on to the next game MOT”
“Good to see his concussion doesn’t seem to have been too severe.”
“You played well today was gutted when you went of glad to hear your ok.”

Firpo has become a first-team regular this season at Leeds, playing in 17 games across all competitions in his debut season with the club.

Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

Firpo and Leeds may well be out of the FA Cup now, but there is still plenty to play for in the Premier League, with relegation still a possibility if form was to drop off badly. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why these supporters are glad to know his injury is not as bad as possibly first feared.
