A number of Leeds United fans have been left very happy after hearing their club being linked with a move for right-back Djed Spence.
Indeed, as reported by Sky Sports (via Football Daily), there are a few clubs interested in signing the Middlesbrough defender, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal were one of the teams said to have an interest in the player, while Leeds were the other Premier League club directly named.
Would you want Djed Spence at Leeds?
Yes
No
The information was shared on social media by Twitter page Leeds Xtra and it soon had some excited fans talking about the possible transfer.
Here’s what these Leeds fans said…
“He was the best player for Forest against Arsenal, looks a great talent!”
As shown by these responses, many Leeds fans would love to see the right-back join their club in the near future.
The club have, of course, recently lost a promising young full-back in Cody Drameh – albeit only on loan – who will spend the rest of the season with Cardiff City in the Championship. Perhaps Spence will be viewed as a player to come in and immediately replace the youngster.
It’s easy to understand why the defender is being linked with such teams as he recently caught the eye in Forest’s FA Cup win over Arsenal, which led Ian Wright to claim on the Wrighty’s House podcast (via NottinghamshireLive): “That was one of the best right-back performances I have seen for a very long time. A very long time.”
