A whole host of Leeds United fans on Twitter were left annoyed to see Cody Drameh head out on loan.

It will have surely come as quite a surprise to many associated with Leeds when young defender Drameh was allowed to leave the club this month on a temporary basis to Cardiff City because of the club’s current injury crisis across the squad.

Will Leeds make signings this January?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Drameh has featured five times across all competitions this season, so from the player’s perspective, a loan move may have seemed the right decision, but Marcelo Bielsa sanctioning a loan deal to make his current squad even thinner appears a bizarre move.

A lot of Leeds fans are fuming on Twitter over this Drameh news.

What have these Leeds fans been saying?

“Madness given our injury situation but he needs to be playing proper football and given Bielsa would rather play 2 players out of position over him it’s a good move”

@TomButler_

“Insane.”

@georgeLUFC11

“I have no words”

@WeAreLeeds1919

“What a shocking decision @LUFC @andrearadri! The squad is threadbare as it is, without loaning out a top talent out & in a position we have limited cover! We need reinforcements, not to loose players!”

@GarethEarnshaw1

“Good move for him to get more minutes. It’s a massive gamble from the club we must have players lined up ready to sign, because we wouldn’t be this silly would we……….”

@BarneyLUFC21

“Outrageous that you’ll send him out on loan when the clubs ravaged by injuries, why not wait till end of window?”

@DN22_White

“I hope there are incomings guys as we’re already down to the bare bones”

@BlueOct_Chris

“Makes me a tad nervous, but he certainly needs extra first team experience and he will be better for it!”

@rugbyleaguelady

“This is bonkers”

@TayWilliams11

“Hopefully gets plenty of game time otherwise it will have been a terrible decision to let him go, with them playing 3 at the back and their rwb being one of their better players I’m interested to see what happens with him, surely he will have had assurances about game time?”

@RPlufc93

“Awful decision”

@bareIybearable

These Leeds fans can clearly see both sides of this deal being approved, as the 20-year old needed regular game time to develop and improve, but the club should arguably be putting their needs first, and Drameh provided cover to Luke Ayling which is now non-existent, other than in the form of Stuart Dallas, who has been required to play in the centre of midfield and at left-back this season.

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?
