Adam Forshaw has taken to Instagram to reveal that his hamstring injury is only ‘small’ and he is ‘fighting’ to be fit for Leeds United’s next game.

In their most recent match, Marcelo Bielsa and co pulled off an impressive 3-2 win in the Premier League.

Unfortunately, however, the performance against West Ham United was complicated by an injury Forshaw picked up after just 22 minutes. At the time, the midfielder had to be replaced by Lewis Bate and it naturally left question marks over the 30-year-old’s immediate future.

Luckily, not only did Leeds manage to win the game without Forshaw, but it seems as though the Englishman will make a fairly speedy recovery, too.

Should Adam Forshaw be a starting player for Leeds?

Indeed, he took to his personal Instagram account to ease fears over his status and suggest that, at the latest, he should be back after the upcoming league break.

He said: “Thanks for all the messages, it’s only a small hamstring injury.

“I’m fighting to be ready for Saturday, if not I’ll be back straight after the break. Brilliant performance from everyone yesterday.”

Considering the midfielder’s troubling injury history – he had missed a period of 500 days due to multiple ongoing issues – it’s great to hear that he should not be out for long with this current hamstring concern.

Having successfully returned from his past woes, Forshaw has become a dependable player for Leeds this season, playing in 12 of his team’s past 13 Premier League games (via Transfermarkt).

This weekend, the West Yorkshire team face Newcastle United in the league. No doubt, it would be a big boost to have the 30-year-old back in time to play a part.
