A whole host of Tottenham Hotspur fans are gutted on Twitter with Fabrizio Romano’s latest transfer claim involving Adama Traore.

It’s clear that Tottenham are very much admirers of Traore having looked to sign the player since last summer. Their pursuit has now dragged into this transfer window, but with over two weeks having passed, no agreement has been reached with Wolves.

Would Traore be an upgrade at Spurs?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Traore would certainly bring a direct style of play to Spurs given his willingness to drive forward and get at defenders would be beneficial – he’s racked up the third-most attempted dribbles this season in the Premier League (as per FBRef) – but with zero assists this season as a winger, he would unlikely improve on Spurs’ lack of quality from out wide, with the north London club having completed the seventh-fewest crosses into the box (FBRef).

Romano has now claimed that despite his lack of attacking output since the start of last season, Spurs are still trying to sign Traore, although Bruno Lage is desperately trying to keep him at the club until at least the summer.

A lot of Spurs fans are furious on Twitter that they’re still linked with Traore and with how long it’s taking to get a deal done.

What have these Tottenham fans been saying?

“Getting embarrassing at this point been after him for two windows”

@joshplume

“how does it take so long? honestly what does our owner do….done with it, any other club would’ve invested 100m+ already to secure that top 4….if it don’t happen, you know why….AGAIN.”

@Jay_THFC3

“This to me means it’s further away than we thought”

@YourawizardTHFC

“Will spend the whole window haggling over a few million to get as shrewd a deal as possible, while completely ignoring the rest of our problems and sign zero other players”

@dylan_thfc

“Still trying yeah heard this before. Why do spurs make transfer windows so painful”

@Daniely79

Trying FC club is a joke”

@KlinsmannsDive

“Hurry up”

@CryLook

As Romano also claimed later in his tweet, Conte has specifically asked the Tottenham board for a new winger this transfer window, so delivering Traore would be doing just that, as the club are ‘still working‘ to sell fellow winger Steven Bergwijn.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

    Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis just don’t want to spend any money, that is the bottom line, any money spent in a transfer window is money wasted and lost from their profits. It’s always been the way and nothing will change while they are in charge. Winning any trophies are a million miles away with these two running the show.
    Joe Lewis, Daniel Levy and ENIC OUT !! ASAP
