Dan Cook has been speaking on the HLTCO podcast about Crystal Palace’s reported interest in Aaron Ramsey.

Crystal Palace seemingly pulled off a masterstroke over the summer when they improved the midfield by landing Conor Gallagher, who has impressed very much this season with six goals and three assists in the Premier League while also receiving his first England call-up and debut.

Could Crystal Palace be relegated?

No!

However, if reports from Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) are to be believed, then Patrick Vieira is not content on his current midfield, with Ramsey – who has been told he will be leaving Juventus this month – linked with a return to the Premier League with Palace.

Cook believes that Ramsey would instantly upgrade their midfield.

“It does seem a little bit far-fetched to me that we would be linked with the current Juventus midfielder, but the reports that have been circulating in the last 24-48 hours suggest that he is keen on a return to London, with Palace fitting the bill perfectly in terms of location.

“Whilst it doesn’t exactly chime with the trend in terms of recruitment age-wise of the players that we’ve brought in in recent windows, or at least since the summer with Patrick Vieira, it’s certainly an upgrade on Luka Milivojevic.”

TIF Thoughts on Aaron Ramsey to Crystal Palace…

While it’s true what Cook said about not fitting the age profile compared to their recent signings, if Palace were offered the chance to bring in Ramsey, who has won several pieces of silverware and has a solid record both scoring and assisting in the Premier League, they would be insane to reject the chance to sign him.

Think you're the biggest Crystal Palace fan? Then who is the club's record signing?

However, it may not that straightforward, with mega-rich Newcastle United also linked with a move for the Welsh midfielder this month and it’s likely that he may have to weigh up what he wants more – living back in London or potentially being paid more up on Tyneside.
