A large number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to voice their anger at the performance of Emerson Royal in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
Antonio Conte’s men returned to action after a number of their games were postponed with a valuable point in their race for a Champions League spot.
Was Emerson a bad signing?
Yes
No
However, despite holding Liverpool to a draw, it seems not all of these fans were pleased with the display from Emerson who was making his 11th league appearance of the campaign (via Transfermarkt).
The 22-year-old played the entirety of the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Andy Robertson, but these fans shared their frustrations throughout the game in north London.
What did these fans have to say?
“Emerson Royal is an imposter and his signing will go down as worst piece of business from Paratici as of now.”
And perhaps their frustrations came when the defender could well have given away a penalty after knocking Diogo Jota over in the Spurs box during the first half.
Three points would’ve further closed the gap on the top four, however, the 22-year-old may feel fortunate he did not cost his side with him also failing to pick up Robertson for the left back’s goal.
