Lots of Leeds United fans have flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on an incident to occur in their Premier League clash at Elland Road on Tuesday night.

The Whites secured all three points in Yorkshire to see them create some breathing room above the bottom three, with two of the teams below them drawing against each other on Tyneside on the same evening.

Should this have been a red card for Zaha?

Despite sealing the points, Leeds fans were left furious over an incident between Wilfried Zaha and Raphinha, which saw the Ivorian tread on the Brazilian’s leg in the second half of the game.

The Leeds winger was able to carry on, however, fans flocked to journalist Phil Hay’s tweet to vent their anger as the Palace ace was not provided with a caution for the incident.

What did these Leeds fans have to say?

“Sent a shiver down my spine that one”

“Surely he’s out of control, above the ankle…it’s a certain red card”
“Zaha has stamped him and doesn’t even get a yellow”
“He knew what he was doing there Zaha”
“Where’s VAR for this type of situation? We’ve had players sent off for what’s happened following through”
“If he breaks his leg….does that mean it’s a red??!”

Raphinha had the last laugh on the night as the Brazilian netted the late winner from the penalty spot to give Leeds just their third win of the Premier League campaign.

However, it is apparent these fans feared the consequences of the incident could have been far worse for Raphinha, and their concern is understandable given he is their top scorer this season – and by quite a distance, too.
