A number of Celtic fans have reacted with excitement after seeing their club be linked with Japanese trio Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi.

As reported by Sky Sports, left-back Hatate will be out of contract in February but is said to want an early move so he can arrive in Scotland before the transfer window closes.

Ange Postecoglou knows Maeda when he worked with the striker during his time at Yokohoma F Marinos, which would explain his interest. While Ideguchi is also said to be a target for the Australian this January – though the central midfielder currently plays for Gamba Osaka.

The story was shared online by the official Sky Sports Scotland Twitter account and it had many Celtic supporters excitedly discussing their potential new players.

Here’s what these Celtic fans said

“Excellent stuff this.”
“Best Monday morning I’ve ever had.”
“Looks like Ange is getting some real backing.”
“Here we go.”
“It’s absolutely brilliant to be able to sign players.”
“Just seen it mate, time to get excited.”

Having signed Kyogo Furuhashi from Vissel Kobe in the summer, it appears the club are keen on going back into the J-League to find new talent.

Kyogo certainly has been a big success since arriving in Scotland. Indeed, in his first 24 appearances for his new club, he has scored 14 times and registered a further five assists.

If the others could come in and make a similarly positive impact, January could be a very fruitful month for the Bhoys.
