A whole host of Sunderland fans are furious on Twitter following their club’s latest update.

Sunderland are on a terrific run of form in League One, with Lee Johnson’s side having not tasted defeat in the league since early November as they remain unbeaten in their previous eight league games.

Will Sunderland earn promotion this season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

This type of form has seen them creep back into the automatic promotion spots, with their latest performance being an impressive one away to Doncaster Rovers – but this momentum won’t be able to last too much longer, as their first scheduled fixture of the new year against Fleetwood Town has been postponed because their opponents have a lack of available players.

A lot of Sunderland fans are very angry on Twitter with this update.

What have these Sunderland fans been saying?

“Think it’s ridiculous you can postpone a game for injuries and 4 Covid cases, we have 3 Covid and injuries but we’re using u23 players”

@AlexBainss

“Gutted, hopefully it’s the only one that effects us this season. Good but rest for the lads though after Thursday till the next one, make the most of it.”

@ConnorGardner

“Sick of this. Fans messed around again. An automatic forfeit and a 3-0 loss to the side calling it off would put an end to it.”

@tomderivan73

“It’s a shambles. We have 97% vaccination rate in our squad, so we shouldn’t be having to call games “

With Sunderland currently flying high in League One, they would have been itching to get some more games under their belts, but after their Sheffield Wednesday clash on 30th December, they will then not play again until 8th January, so you can understand the fans’ frustration.
