Many Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to discuss French centre-back Christopher Jullien following Ange Postecoglou’s latest fitness update.

The 28-year-old Frenchman has not featured for Celtic since a 2-0 win over Dundee United back in December of last year due to a knee injury.

Now, Postecoglou has issued an injury update on Jullien while speaking on Celtic’s official YouTube channel in a media conference, and was asked for an update on the defender’s condition.

He responded (via The Celtic Bhoys): “Nah mate, nothing really.

“He’s working through things, and once he gets close, I’ll let you know.”

Jullien then became a hot topic on Twitter for fans to discuss as no timescale was given ahead of his potential return.

What did these Celtic fans make of Jullien’s injury update?

“He was never ‘set for a return to football in October’. He was set for a return to training which he did. Seems folk expect Jullien to be out for a year then automatically back in the team again. It’s a long road to get up to match fitness”

@CelticIg

“Get shot of him, never great anyway even when playing”

@FoyGed

“Yeah, he’s the last type of defender we needed over the last year…good pace..excellent in the air…glad he was out tbh and we had ready made replacements like Welsh and eh…Montgomery…”

@stevom72

“Said it months ago. He won’t play for Celtic again. Injury return keeps being extended, a Lennon signing, French contingent moved on. Will be off in the summer”

@mackayac

“Rest in peace Christopher Julien, you would’ve loved Angeball”

@ReissFerguson

“He wasn’t set to return to football in October. Just training”

@BlackrockRd

Clearly, some fans are fearing the worst over Jullien’s future at the club as he closes in on a year without any senior match action following Postecoglou’s latest update.

Celtic will be hoping to win a third successive win in the Scottish Premiership as they take on Hearts this evening at Parkhead, with the Hoops looking to close the gap to current league leaders Rangers to just four points as Ange Postecoglou’s side aim to reclaim the title from their fiercest rivals this campaign.
