It’s been a woeful season for Celtic’s Mikey Johnston, producing just one assist in all competitions. That is simply not good enough for any attacker in world football, let alone a title-challenging side.
The fans have been left fuming with him this season, voicing their anger on other occasions already. After a lacklustre goalless draw at St. Mirren on Wednesday night, Johnston was again slated for his performance.

When looking at the Twitter reaction, it’s obvious that the Celtic fans have had enough with the winger, slagging him off after the defeat.

With Jota injured, Ange Postecoglou has had to rely on Johnston to fill the gap. Jota has eight goals and six assists in his 18 games, which would be incredibly hard for any backup option to replace.
Unfortunately, the one assist all season for Johnston just won’t cut it at the top level, something the fans are clearly letting him know.
Celtic now find themselves languishing six points behind leaders Rangers, clearly desperate for Jota to return or Johnston to find form if they are to mount a title push. Having 30 attempts at St. Mirren without return is simply shambolic.
