Celtic fans have been reacting to comments made by former top-flight referee Keith Hackett about Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Japanese international has taken to Ange Postecoglou’s side like a duck to water, with 14 goals in 23 appearances so far this season, however, he has also managed to make a name for himself for rather undesirable reasons as well, with some accusing him of diving and exaggerating injuries, forcing his manager to come out and defend the 26-year-old.

A user on Twitter recently compiled footage which shows some of the incidents that Kyogo has been involved in this season, and when asked to comment on the matter in an interview with Football Insider, Hackett had the following to say:

“Kyogo has gone down exaggerating… these players should be informed that their behaviour is unacceptable.

“If I was the Scottish FA, I’d be looking to call both of these players in and fine them. Look, I think, generally, the referees have got this under control and I think the Scottish FA need to tighten it up. They need to remind players they are responsible for the image of the game.”

These comments were then relayed to Celtic fans on the Celtic Insider Facebook page for them to react to, where it certainly sparked some interesting comments:

Of course, it’s hard to judge intent and whether Kyogo is exaggerating or genuinely hurt in the incidents, but hopefully it stops happening so that it can stop being a talking point one way or another soon.
