It was a night to forget for Celtic in their last fixture before Christmas, dropping more points after a wasteful goalless draw at St. Mirren.

Ange Postecoglou’s post-game comments saw the fans rip into him, less than a week after he guided them to a trophy at the first attempt.

The Hoops boss was clearly despondent following the result and expressed his disappointment at his team’s inability to put away chances, but supporters were not so sympathetic.

When Celtic’s official club account shared the Postecoglou interview to Twitter, the fans flocked to the comments to vent their frustrations with him.

What the Celtic fans said…

“Ange you are making the same mistakes as Lennon did. You should have aged your best team to make sure you didn’t drop more points. But you blew it big time. Game over. I’m off season tickets ripped up. I won’t be back. I’m not wasting £1300 watching Bitton and Mikey J.”

@stevehere1234

“Not his fault. Should never have been given the job in the first place.”

@Celticfan677

“He’s raging inside”

@clarkiediver

“You can see how disappointed he is.”

@Angeball12

“Clueless, no plan B.”

@Edgallacher12

“He just seems either too stubborn to change tactics or he’s tactically naive.”

@Matt574712592

“Can see he is gutted. Two games before the break and got merced, should have played strongest team. League has gone now.”

@BuchananFaolan

It’s clear to see their frustrations with the manager and the lack of progress made in the league. The Hoops had 83% possession at the SMISA Stadium, with a staggering 30 shots compared to just four from the hosts.

When you dominate the ball and create that many chances, surely the blame falls with those missing the chances as much as the manager.

More dropped points for Postecoglou sees his side fall further away from runaway leaders Rangers. The gap is now six points between the fierce rivals. Having just lost once all season, needing at least two slip-ups from the Gers, Celtic’s title hopes are quickly vanishing.
