Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are likely to get rid of some players in the January transfer market.

With the winter window almost upon us, it will be interesting to see how Spurs back new manager Antonio Conte as the Italian takes steps to help build the club in his image.

With this being the first transfer market under his management, Conte – and the club fans – will likely expect to see a few new faces in during the month of January. However, it looks as though if that is to happen, some players will have to leave first.

Indeed, according to Bridge, who spoke to GiveMeSport, ‘there will have to be outgoings’ at Tottenham – a necessity that is likely being discussed between Conte and Fabio Paratici at the present moment.

The Sky Sports man said in full: “There will have to be outgoings and I’m sure he’s speaking with Fabio Paratici. Those outgoings probably could happen.”

TIF Thoughts on Antonio Conte and Tottenham…

Conte has come in and has certainly had an immediate impact, with Spurs now sitting in fifth place in the league, with three games in hand on rivals Arsenal, who sit one place above them.

If he is to build a squad closer to that which he desires, the Evening Standard recently reported that the likes of Matt Doherty, Dele Alli, Joe Rodon and Steven Bergwijn are all available to leave either on loan or on a permanent basis.

With those players potentially set to leave, this could open to door for some new arrivals. One such player could possibly be AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who, according to the Express, is someone the English club have a strong interest in.

With January just days away, Spurs’ full intentions and ambitions should soon be revealed.
