Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his latest episode of the Here We Go Podcast to discuss the future of Steven Bergwijn in north London.
The Dutchman has had a difficult spell in England since arriving in 2020 from PSV Eindhoven, which has since seen him find the back of the net on just four occasions.

There have been a number of rumours emerging suggesting the Dutchman could be in line to make an exit from the Lilywhites next month, with Ajax one of the clubs reportedly registering an interest.
Reports have claimed Bergwijn was set for a move to Inter before joining Spurs, however, Antonio Conte’s arrival in Milan saw a potential deal called off.
And discussing the 24-year-old’s options ahead of the upcoming transfer window, Romano had the following to say on the interest from across Europe in the winger.
“So yes, Hugo Lloris has chances to stay at Tottenham. Bergwijn is a different situation, because many clubs are interested in him [for a] long time. It depends on Antonio Conte. If Antonio Conte gives the green light to make him leave in January, many clubs will be ready to jump in this negotiation. So remember the name of Bergwijn, because he could be one of the players prepared to leave.”

It has certainly been a tricky spell for the Dutchman at Spurs, which has been summed up by his lack of game time this season with just 284 minutes of Premier League action under his belt.
Despite having not scored a single goal for the Lilywhites this campaign, Bergwijn has shown his potential for the Dutch national side with a goal and an assist in his last outing for Louis van Gaal’s side.
With this in mind, we would be interested to see what a loan spell away from Spurs could potentially do for Bergwijn to help him regain some confidence.
However, if a decent sum of money was offered for the Dutchman, we would not be surprised to see Antonio Conte allow him to depart given he has only allowed the winger 13 minutes of action so far.
