A whole host of Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter were annoyed to read this latest Dele Alli update.

Antonio Conte has claimed that he wants to ‘unlock‘ Alli’s potential that could still be inside the player given how great he has been in the past for both club and country.

It’s been bizarre to witness Alli’s decline at Spurs, as after bursting onto the scene in 2015, his first two seasons with the club saw the midfielder rack up 44 goal involvements in the Premier League, but he’s yet to find the back of the net from open play since the 2019/20 season.

Despite his alarming fall from grace, according to Eurosport, Alli wants to stay at Spurs and save his career under Conte.

A lot of Tottenham fans are annoyed on Twitter about this latest Alli update.

What have these Spurs fans been saying?

“Couldn’t perform under Conte against Mura and we are supposed to believe this utter garbage lol”

@COYSJordan94

“Cheers I’m crying”

@thfc_summer

“Just get out of our club at this point now. Fed up of him.”

@MouraThis

“With all due respect, it’s a waste of every bodies time. The bloke is finished and we can’t hold on to this nostalgia anymore”

@alexthfc2019

“he’s a worse problem than ndombele really, and yet ndombele is portrayed as such an extreme villain”

@UDMahfuz

“Nah, you’re alright Dele but your stealing a salary. We’ve heard it all before.”

@danrogers77

“He’s been stealing a living for 3 seasons now. Championship quality at best.”

@thedispersal

As much as Alli may want to stay at Spurs and attempt to revive his career, these Tottenham fans certainly do not seem interested in keeping the midfielder longer than they have to.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

Alli has been linked with a move away in the past to Newcastle United, who have their very wealthy new owners, but would the midfielder want to drop all the way down to the bottom of the Premier League?
