Tottenham Hotspur fans were left fuming with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who didn’t have his best day at the office by all accounts.

It was a solid, professional, worry free Boxing Day win for Antonio Conte’s side who brushed aside the ten men of Crystal Palace 3-0, never looking in any danger.

Lucas missed a sitter early on before setting up Harry Kane and scoring himself. He then assisted Son-Heung min to wrap the points up and help Spurs capitalise on West Ham losing, jumping them to go fifth in the league.

Despite an incredibly successful day, there were still frustrations for the Spurs faithful, slamming Hojbjerg’s performance in particular.

How the Spurs fans reacted to Hojbjerg’s performance

“Or against 11 play with 11 and never start Hojbjerg.” @loveladieslikeu

“Why does Hojbjerg keep getting angry when he is the one making mistakes?” @Rasmusthfc

“Hojbjerg off, that guy thinks he is Winks.” @HarryBager

“Emerson and Hojbjerg holding us back from being title contenders.” @thfcVC

“Notice how bad Hojbjerg has been ever since we needed him to do more than press and scream?” @NotShehryarThfc

“Genuinely want to know what does Hojbjerg offer the team?” @tortureham

“Standing in his position as Hojbjerg charges around like a spaniel who wants him to throw a stick in the park.” @Forzabahab

“Would really like to see Winks & Skipp in the middle. Hojbjerg’s passing is awful!” @roddysrealm

It’s clear to see how annoyed they are with the midfielder with these comments, with them ultimately relieved to see him subbed off with just over ten minutes remaining.

He has played 14 of the 16 games Spurs have played in the Premier League, so it shows that both Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte rate the Danish international highly.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

Unless Conte makes reinforcements in the January transfer window, it looks like the Spurs fans will have to get used to watching the former Bayern Munich man be an important player for their side.
