Tottenham Hotspur fans had plenty to celebrate on Boxing Day as the woeful ten men of Crystal Palace fell to a 3-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Despite scoring, Lucas was left red faced after an incredibly embarrassing miss at 0-0. He glanced his header wide from a superb Sergio Reguilon cross, just needing more on the ball for a pretty much guaranteed goal.

He was quick to rectify his error, setting up Harry Kane for the opening goal of the game before scoring himself two minutes later. He then set up Son late on to wrap the points up for Spurs.

His involvement today was huge for Spurs who kept pace with Arsenal who also won convincingly. Spurs are now up to 5th place, directly behind their rivals.
Arsenal hold a six point advantage over Spurs, but thankfully for Antonio Conte’s side, they have three games in hand over the Gunners, so climbing into the Champions League places is still in their own hands.
