Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge in the club’s recent training ground crisis.

The Lilywhites are in the middle of a virus outbreak at their Hotspur Way training ground and the number of positive tests being returned by the squad seems to be growing by the day.

It was reported on Tuesday the club had up to six players and two members of staff affected by the virus, however, in a recent report from Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, that number has now risen to 20.

And the claim saw Spurs fans flock to Twitter as more bad news piles up for their club just over a week after their Premier League clash against Burnley was also postponed.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Pain.”

“genuinely really poor this was ever allowed to happen, a huge failure in looking after our players and staff”
“Wow”
“That is horrendous! I really hope every player/staff member gets over it quickly and fully, but there are risks of long Covid symptoms that can be awful too. To expect them to play a competitive game of football after only 10 days isolating is ridiculous!”
“If it doesn’t rain it pours”
“Diaster”

The outbreak at Hotspur Way has been so severe it has seen their European clash against Rennes postponed and their upcoming clash against Brighton & Hove Albion put into jeopardy.

However, the health of the players is clearly the priority for these fans as well as the club, given they have closed their Hotspur Way training ground.

One comment refers to a failure to look after our players and staff but maybe our players and staff could look after themselves better? Bet there’s not much hand washing, mask wearing when not playing/training, but lots of unnecessary hugging, handshakes etc.
