A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been sharing their thoughts on Twitter at a recent claim to emerge regarding the club’s recruitment process.

According to Football Insider, Antonio Conte is looking to take control of the recruitment process at Spurs in the January window alongside director of football Fabio Paratici.

Should Levy give Conte full control?

Yes

No

No

The report also suggests a number of people behind the scenes are fighting to keep their jobs because of this revelation, but Steve Hitchen is likely to remain in his role due to his close relationship with Daniel Levy.

Spurs fans flocked to Twitter as the claims were relayed and shared their thoughts on Conte’s demands just one month into the job.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“YES”

“THIS IS WHAT IS NEEDED, had enough of Hitchen starting conversations like, “Have you heard of this defender in the French 2nd division?””
“Give him the keys! We cook”
“MY MAN IS COOKING”
“Great news”
“The Conte clearout has begun”

The Lilywhites spent a total of £60.21m over the summer, but are yet to see any of the acquired players make much of an impact, with Cristian Romero frequently injured and Emerson Royal yet to provide an assist.

And it is no surprise these fans wish to see a change in their recruitment process, with record signing Tanguy Ndombele failing to live up to his £54m price tag.

  • Tony Borg says:

If we bring in Antonio Conte to get this team winning things and instilling a winning mentality you have to back him and do the things he wants done or there is absolutely no point in bringing him in. Levy get rid of the players he doesn’t think good enough and let him sign the quality signings he wants, we’ve done it Levy’s way for 20 years, which hasn’t worked. Back Conte or sell up. This has to be ENIC’s last chance.
