A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to share their concerns over the latest claim to emerge ahead of their game on Sunday afternoon.

According to David Ornstein, Antonio Conte is set to hand Dele Alli a start in their Premier League clash in north London against Liverpool.

Would you sell Dele Alli in January?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The news comes amid Tottenham’s return to action following a number of their games were postponed due to the recent outbreak of the virus across the top-flight.

However, with Conte appearing likely to mix up his squad due to the recent outbreak, it seems the inclusion of Dele Alli has certainly come as a shock to these fans.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Might as well just forfeit now”

“Postpone it now”
Please no. he should never wear a Spurs shirt again.”
“The pain im in now after reading this is indescribable”
“CONGRATS LIVERPOOL!”
“horrible news”
“We’re finished”
“NOOOOOO”

Spurs go into the game against the Reds with a seven-point deficit to their north London rivals, Arsenal, who currently occupy the final spot in the Champions League places – albeit with four games in hand.

Dele’s last start came against NS Mura in the Europa Conference League and it did not take Conte long to hook the midfielder off with just 54 minutes of the game gone.

But it seems optimism among these fans has been dampened by the claim on Dele Alli with the midfielder having only played 19 minutes of league action since September (via Transfermarkt).
