A large number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been drawn to Twitter after a claim has emerged regarding the future of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

According to TalkSport reporter Alex Crook, Antonio Conte has not been impressed by his fellow countryman since arriving at Hotspur Way in November.

Would you send Gollini back to Atalanta?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The 26-year-old joined Spurs in the summer on an initial loan deal from Atalanta, however, Crook feels it is unlikely Spurs will seek a permanent deal from what they have seen so far from Gollini.

He said: “I know Antonio Conte isn’t convinced by Pierluigi Gollini – the goalkeeper who they signed from Atalanta in the summer. I don’t think they will be taking up the option to make that permanent.”

And with the Italian only making one appearance to date under Conte – in the Europa Conference League – these fans shared their honest thoughts on Gollini after hearing the Italian boss has not been too impressed with him.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“no one is, he’s so bad, we shouldve kept hart for another season instead”

“CONTEEEEEE”
“Conte knows ball”
“Let’s go”
“SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUIIIIIIIIII”
“CONTEEEEE”
“YESSSSSS”
“Probably up there with the most obvious observations about our club. Conte seeing things the way they are”

The Italian was provided with a few more opportunities under Nuno Espirito Santo with seven appearances to his name before the arrival of Conte in November (via Transfermarkt).

But with Spurs now out of the Europa Conference League, it is apparent these fans are not convinced Gollini deserves many more opportunities having conceded nine goals in his eight appearances, while they certainly seem extremely excited at the prospect of Conte sourcing his own goalkeeper to add to their ranks.
