Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted with great excitement after hearing that Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger could be signing for their club.

With the German defender’s contract running out in the summer, much has been made of late about his future and all his possible destinations. One club in the thick of all that have been Spurs.

However, in a new twist, it now looks as though Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are pushing for a deal to be done soon. Indeed, as reported by Football Insider, the club want an agreement in place in January ahead of Rudiger joining at the end of the season, and so discussions will soon take place behind the scenes regarding a possible deal.

However, with so much speculation regarding his future, he may just want to cut ties with the club and have the next step of his career lined up as soon as possible.

This could all play into Tottenham’s hands if they are to convince the German to join their club – which is just what Football Insider claims they want to do.
