A whole host of Newcastle United fans were ecstatic on Facebook to see that their club has reportedly moved for Marcelo Brozovic.
Newcastle have managed to close the gap on teams above them this week having picked up a valuable point at home, which was their first match without tasting defeat in three outings thanks in part to a stunning goal from Allan Saint-Maximin.
Will Newcastle sign Trippier?
One area of the pitch which once may have been seen as in need of improvement is no longer the centre of midfield, as Joelinton has established himself as a more than capable midfielder under Eddie Howe, picking up the Man of the Match award against Manchester United.
That has not stopped the club from looking at potential additions to play alongside the Brazilian, though, with Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (via Chronicle Live) that the Magpies have ‘made a major offer’ for the Croatian midfielder.
A lot of Newcastle fans are buzzing on Facebook with this transfer claim.
What have these Newcastle fans been saying?
Brozovic is set to enter the final six months of his contract with the reigning Serie A champions, so could be available for a cut-price fee or even to sign on a pre-contract ahead of arriving in the summer, although the latter would be a bigger risk for the midfielder as that could see him spend a season in the Championship if Newcastle fail to avoid relegation.
What’s more, the reports suggest Brozovic is not interested in a move to Tyneside, so it looks as though these fans may end up disappointed.
