It’s been reported that Kieran Trippier is on Newcastle United’s radar at the moment, with the club prepared to make him their highest earning player.

Jim White on talkSPORT posed the question to Simon Jordan about whether or not that would disrupt the other big players there currently with Trippier on a ‘small fortune.’

Will Newcastle be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

When responding to White, Jordan wasn’t afraid to give it to the Newcastle squad with both barrels: “They are second to bottom of the league right? I think they would be best served shutting their mouths and playing for their Premier League futures rather than worrying about incoming transfers.”

TIF thoughts on Jordan’s comments…

Although his words could be considered harsh by some, he has every right to criticise the players if that situation was to happen. How could you be massively underperforming in a job and then go and ask for a pay rise? It’s preposterous to think about.

If Newcastle were to stay up this season, then over the summer, the bigger players in the side that were instrumental in that survival could go and ask, they’d have the leverage then to request more money.

It’s still not confirmed that Trippier is going to be going to Tyneside, nor would his wage be disclosed, but you’d imagine that Newcastle will have to pay over the odds to convince bigger and better players to take on a relegation fight.
