Podcaster and Newcastle United fan Marley Anderson has urged his side to pursue a deal for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey in January, following rumours linking the Welshman with a Premier League return.
With just the one win all season, Eddie Howe’s side have a small mountain to climb if they are to retain Premier League status next season.
To survive, you feel the January window will be vital to their chances, adding quality to the ranks and improving the team in multiple ways.
The latest name to be linked is former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey. Although, according to CalcioMercato (and as per the Daily Star), the Welsh international is rumoured to be on Rafael Benitez’s Christmas list at Everton.

Speaking to the Football Social Daily podcast, Toon supporter Anderson, going on record saying:
“He’s got a point to prove, I think, coming back to England after a couple of years in Turin, where it hasn’t really gone the way he’d have fancied it.
“It has actually gone the way many people thought it would, because I’m not sure Aaron Ramsey ever was big enough for Juventus, but the opportunity came along and he was never going to turn it down.
“So I think his injury record has been a little bit worrisome, but there’s still a quality player in there, I think. We see it for Wales, we’ve seen it with Arsenal for many years.
“I think he’d be a really good signing for us.”

Clearly, Ramsey is a huge improvement on what Newcastle currently have at their disposal by adding Premier League and Champions League experience to the squad. However, there are some concerns over his injury record.

Based on his previous exploits in England, if he does switch Turin for Tyneside and can stay fit, it could be a great signing for the Magpies. Obviously, we don’t know how the Ramsey transfer saga will play out, but if Anderson’s views are shared across the Toon fanbase, it certainly looks like Newcastle fans would be on board with such a signing.
