Newcastle United fans have been reacting to comments made by defender Jamal Lewis following their game in the Premier League.

The Northern Irish defender made only his third appearance of the season as Newcastle were held to a 1-1 draw against Norwich City.

Speaking to the club after the game, the defender talked about the performance against the Canaries, but also spoke about how he felt being back in the side having last made an appearance for the Toon back in September against Manchester United.

He said: “On a personal note, it was a good night for me to get my feet wet again. Hopefully, I can get a good run of games and help the team get some points to climb up the table.”

No

Lewis certainly did cut an impressive figure, making one tackle, one interception, two clearances and completing 79% of his passes (higher than the team average of 69%), whilst not letting anybody dribble past him (via WhoScored).

Perhaps his performance has given Eddie Howe something to consider when it comes to team selection moving forward.
