Newcastle United fans may not have had the best year following the fortunes of their team on the field, but it’s been a success off it.
In October Mike Ashley was bought out of the club by PIF from Saudi Arabia, making them the richest club in the world. The new ownership has excited fans, especially after their latest update on Christmas day.

A change in ownership ultimately led to the sacking of Steve Bruce and the hiring of Eddie Howe, and since then the Magpies have finally won a game in the league.

This doesn’t mean it’s perfect, the club are still struggling and languishing in the relegation spots, winning just one game so far.
However, there is optimism with the January transfer window just around the corner. Being the richest club in the world gives you serious spending powers, could that be Newcastle’s saviour?
Only time will tell, but one thing we know for certain, is that as things stand, reinforcements are going to be vital.
