Newcastle United’s transfer rumour mill is changing by the hour and is difficult to keep up with! They’re now linked to Albert Rusnak who plays for Real Salt Lake City in the MLS.

The news comes from The Daily Mail who claim the 27 year old Slovakian is touted to be peaking the interest of Newcastle as well as Southampton.

His contract with the American side is set to expire this month, therefore making him a free agent for them to sign.

Rusnak is no stranger to England, having graduated from Manchester City’s academy previously.

How many players do Newcastle need to sign?

Five or less?

Five or less?

More than five?

More than five?

What the Newcastle fans said

“City and Chelsea have hundreds on their books who don’t get anywhere near the first team, unless you’re signing Kyle Walker or Mahrez leave well alone. Remember Atsu? Did he ever get a game for Chelsea but came as a Chelsea player, ha enough said.” @landing_d

“Surely we need players who can make an instant impact. Ideally with proven Prem experience. He left City 6 years ago without a senior appearance.” @RobL987

“Right now all we need is players who can walk right in and challenge for a starting spot. Squad players can’t be a priority.” @dazzacon

“No thanks.” @evan_milburn

“Please no… He is trash. Not good enough for the Prem. Was okay in the Eredivisie but even there he didn’t make much of an impact.” @DaveADODH

“Says Albert Rusnak’s agent!” @RichMyself

“Don’t really know anything about this bloke so I can’t really comment on his quality but I’d just be wary that we’re not getting in to another Hendrick scenario where we just sign someone cause they’re there and available.” @84WalkerJ

Clearly they aren’t happy with the potential, but it’s low risk given it is a cheap deal. The fact he’ll be coming on a free, provided he doesn’t ask for extortionate wages, will be a basically risk free signing.

Starting with an easy one, what number does Wilson wear for Newcastle?

He has provided 18 goals in his 34 MLS games this season for Real Salt Lake City, an impressive return via 11 goals and seven assists. He can operate on either wing or in the number 10 role (his preferred) which would provide Eddie Howe with some much needed depth in the attacking areas, allowing him to rotate players and also have impact subs.
