A whole host of Newcastle United fans are furious on Twitter after footage emerged of the penalty they conceded yesterday.

Newcastle fell to their heaviest defeat of the season yesterday to Leicester City, with the damage beginning in the first half when the Magpies conceded their sixth penalty of the season, although it was certainly a contentious one.

How many players do Newcastle need to sign?

Five or less?

Five or less?

More than five?

More than five?

Despite a seemingly questionable decision by the referee and VAR team, the Magpies had no excuse for the other goals they conceded as it confirmed what most people knew – that their defence is not very good, and as it stands, it is the worst in the league.

Now, a lot of Newcastle fans are fuming on Twitter as they believed James Maddison dived to win his side a penalty.

  What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Why do we even have VAR”

@KGIBSON93

“The more you watch this the worse it gets”

@ryanwiilson

“It didn’t matter in the end but first time I’ve seen that, absolute disgrace that didn’t get over turned. I know every club feel they’re the victim but I swear we get shafted every single week”

@ToonTom

“Disgrace”

@emmxbrady

“The more you see it, the more embarrassing it is. How can VAR not see that’s a dive?”

@ScottDaley26

“Absolutely disgusting”

@The_lowe92

“Awful decision”

@dam_1973

While this one decision will not have changed the entire landscape of how the match went as the Magpies inflicted a lot of errors upon themselves and almost handed the Foxes at least two goals just by being sloppy on the ball, it doesn’t change the fact that these Newcastle fans don’t believe the right decision was made.
