A large number of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge in their search for a new director of football.
According to journalist Craig Hope, the Tyneside club have recruited specialist recruitment firm Nolan Partners to help them find the right person to fill the position.
Did you expect a DOF to be appointed by now?
No
Yes
This report comes two months after the Newcastle takeover was confirmed, which has seen the departure of Steve Bruce and the arrival of Eddie Howe.
And the Magpies are expected to add to their hierarchy in the form of a director of football, with a number of names being linked with the role.
This latest development saw fans flock to Twitter.
What did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“I’m surprised they weren’t better prepared for buying a premier league club. Especially as it took so long.”
It is believed that with the firm expected to take at least two months to find the desired candidate to fill the vacant role, the board will appoint a short-term advisor to help oversee the January transfer window.
And it is of little surprise these Toon fans have been left frustrated, given a potentially huge transfer window is ahead of them as they look to bolster their squad to battle off their current relegation fears.
