A whole host of Newcastle United fans on Twitter are furious to see Nick Hammond appointed in a consultancy role at the club.

With just three more games to go until the January transfer window opens where Amanda Staveley has previously confirmed that there will be money made available to Eddie Howe in January, and it will certainly be required given how poor Newcastle United have been this season.

Would you like to see NUFC sign Trippier?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Magpies are seemingly targeting players with either Premier League experience or ones that have worked under Howe before with the likes of Lloyd Kelly, Nathan Ake and Kieran Trippier all being linked with moves in January and with news breaking that Hammond has been hired by Newcastle as a temporary consultant, he may well look to focus on the domestic markets having previously worked with the likes of West Brom, Reading and Celtic.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter are not happy with this appointment.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Needs to be 6 in. 3 is ridiculous. A couple of injuries and we are back to square 1”

@LittleHenryD

“Do you not think it’s slightly worrying that they’re struggling to fill the position? Seen multiple reports of targets not being convinced about the clubs “vision” or “direction”… seems strange that the ‘richest club in the world’ can’t find anyone who wants to spend that money”

@joeowengrant

“we are down”

@noahtbhh

“We don’t appear to be very organised.”

@Marky_Marc77

“Winging it. Honestly pretty worrying. They’ve had more than 2 months to sort this out. Jan will tell us everything about the direction we are going to go.”

@ppang_dori

“He was a disaster at Celtic.”

@Geordieoldboy45

“He was a Reading for years , absolutely clueless ! Beginning to worry about this position”

@InnTooned

Considering Newcastle were said to have the likes of Michael Emenalo and Luis Campos on their shortlist of candidates to become the club’s new director of football, now settling for someone who hired Alan Pardew at West Brom is rightfully worrying for these fans.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?
