Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on a YouTube video from The United Stand to discuss Manchester United’s interest in Amadou Haidara.

Ralf Rangnick’s arrival at Old Trafford has also brought talk of current RB Leipzig midfielder Haidara as being a potential name on the Red Devils’ transfer shortlist.

And according to Romano, United are emerging as potential suitors for the midfielder, who is still under contract with the Bundesliga side until the summer of 2025.

These claims come at a time where United find themselves in the middle of a Paul Pogba-shaped storm, with the Frenchman’s future at Old Trafford up in the air.

And discussing what may lie ahead for the 23-year-old midfielder amid these United rumours, Romano provided the following update:

“Haidara, of course, the link is with Ralf Rangnick. He has a great appreciation for this boy, he’s convinced that he is one player that would be perfect for the Premier League.

“But from what I’m told, at the moment, there are no contacts between Man United and Leipzig or with his agent. So at the moment, it’s still quiet for Haidara. He is appreciated by Rangnick, but it’s still quiet.”

TIF Thoughts on Haidara to MUFC…

The future of Pogba is still unknown as the 28-year-old’s second stint at Old Trafford begins to wind itself down to the final few months of his current deal (via Transfermarkt).

Pogba’s previous two full Premier League campaigns have been a relative disappointment, and we do feel like they should be looking for his potential replacement ahead of the summer.

Although Pogba has not hit his usual high standards in recent seasons, it should be noted Haidara – albeit still just 23 years old – has not been able to score more than three goals in a Bundesliga season (via Transfermarkt).

It seems Haidara is still very much a young, raw talent with room for development in front of goal. However, with Rangnick having previously worked with him at RB Leipzig, we think United should show some trust in their manager’s judgement.
