Plenty of Leeds United fans have been left hugely concerned after hearing that Kalvin Phillips may be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Over the weekend, the club’s English star had to leave the field early in the 2-2 draw against Brentford. It has now emerged that the midfielder could be out injured for a long time.
Indeed, BBC journalist Adam Pope told his Twitter followers that Phillips is ‘understood to be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines’. He then added Marcelo Bielsa will hopefully clarify the matter in his next press conference.
Are Leed in big relegation trouble now Kalvin Phillips is injured?
Yes
No
Elsewhere, The Telegraph has reported he will be out for two months with a hamstring issue.
Reacting to Pope’s update, these Leeds supporters couldn’t hide their disappointment.
Here’s what these Leeds fans said…
Even with Phillips playing in all but three of their Premier League games this season, Bielsa’s men are only six points above Burnley, who sit in the relegation zone with a game in hand on the Whites.
Add to that the fact that Leeds haven’t won a league game without the England international this season, and it’s easy to understand the panicked tweets above.
