Many Leeds United fans have reacted with pride online after majority owner Andrea Radrizzani shared an image of a recent newspaper article.

Respected journalist Henry Winter wrote the article for The Times – which was also made available online – that outlined the sad reason behind why all of the club’s 82 staff members, including players, have all been vaccinated.

The article explains that the parents of respected head of medicine and performance Rob Price both passed away earlier this year as a result of the pandemic. This tragic circumstance led the club to become one of the Premier League’s leading lights when it comes to vaccination rates.

Radrizzani shared an image of the newspaper on his Twitter feed, adding that he was ‘proud’ of the club. It quickly drew a similar response from many Leeds supporters.

Who was Bielsa's first competitive game as Leeds manager against?

In recent times, with many Premier League games being postponed due to outbreaks, discussions of vaccination rates have been a hot topic.

Indeed, the league recently revealed 77% of its players were double-jabbed. This compares poorly with other European leagues like Serie A – which claims that 98% of its players had received two jabs (via The Guardian).

At least Leeds are one English club sending out the right message.
