Leeds United fans have been reacting to footage that has emerged of Stuart Dallas from their most recent game in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men came out 1-0 winners against Crystal Palace at Elland Road this past Tuesday thanks to a penalty from Raphinha deep into stoppage time.

The home side weren’t under too much pressure from the visitors throughout the game, as they only managed to get away one shot on target (via WhoScored), and part of that was down to the efforts of players in keeping the ball away from Illan Meslier’s penalty area.

One such incident came from Northern Irish defender Dallas, even if it wasn’t through the most orthodox of methods when it came to defending.

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

During the second half whilst in a challenge with Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, Dallas engaged in a shoulder barge with the Ivorian before losing his balance, but that didn’t stop him from doing his duty, as he flung himself towards the ball with his head and knocked it onto the Palace man, forcing a goal kick.

Footage of the incident was shared online by the club’s Twitter account, where it generated plenty of interesting responses from the Elland Road faithful:

“Without doubt the best #lufc player we have had for the last 2 seasons…an absolute warrior, machine!! And what a great guy too…”

“Shades of John Terry for England”
“One of the best signings pound for pound that Leeds united have ever made….and I’ll hear no different”
“This is what you call brave and giving it all my fast becoming a Leeds legend”
“It’s just class.”
“Unbelievable”
“‘He’s just too good for you’”

Is Stuart Dallas one of Leeds' most important players?

It certainly was a matter of ‘whatever it takes’ to get the job done, but hopefully Dallas won’t be forced into too many of those situations in the future, as it’s not a guarantee that it will work every time.
