Leeds United fans have been left distraught by injury news surrounding a number of first-team players.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men haven’t got off to the best start this season, winning just three of their 15 games, meaning they sit just six points above the relegation zone.

And with a rather daunting looking fixture list ahead of them, they are going to need all the help they can get to keep as far away from the drop as possible.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

However, they were dealt a hammer blow on Thursday as the club revealed that Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, Robin Koch and captain Liam Cooper have all suffered a variety of injuries that will leave them out for various lengths of time.

The news was relayed to the Leeds United fans by the club on their Twitter feed for them to react to, where it’s fair to say they were left rather despondent to hear the update, with some fearful that relegation could well be on the cards following the news:

“Helllloooooooooo relegation”

“The world is against us”
“Cheers, kid’s crying”
“It just goes from bad to worse”
“Squad far to small to cope, love Bielsa but ludicrous thinking to have such a small squad.”
“Announce relegation now lads”
“Time for an investigation into training methods and effects on players, and into the medical department as a whole?? Seems an incredible amount of injuries, some bought injured, or have chronic issues.”
“Well christmas is ruined”
“Massive opportunity for the talented U23s to step up. Hope they get their chances.”

It certainly is going to be tricky for Bielsa and his notoriously small squad to navigate these next few games without these players, let’s just hope that he finds a way to manage it without seeing Leeds go on a bad run that plunges them into a relegation battle.
