Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by former defender Pontus Jansson ahead of their upcoming Premier League game.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men take on Jansson’s Brentford on Sunday in what will be only his second appearance back at Elland Road following his move to west London in 2019, having previously returned just a few months after his move when he was on the wrong end of a 1-0 defeat.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

Jansson made 120 appearances for Leeds, and clearly, his time at Elland Road left an impression on the Swedish defender, as he recently stated in an interview with Stadium Astro (quoted by Leeds Live) that Leeds United were a “crazy big club. You couldn’t almost walk into the city because everyone is a Leeds fan.”

These comments were relayed to the fans by the Leeds United Live Facebook page, where there were plenty of people on hand to show their respect for the 30-year-old, with some even going so far as to say that they hoped to see him return to the club one day:

Comments like these are certainly one way to keep yourself in the good books of the supporters and should hopefully help him get a decent reception from them when he makes his appearance on Sunday back at Elland Road.
