Leeds United fans have been reacting to footage that has emerged of one of their youngsters Lewis Bate ahead of the new year.
Having signed this past summer from Chelsea for an initial fee of £1.5m, Bate has predominantly been used by the club’s academy side, where has managed to bag one goal and one assist, and although he has made the bench of the first team on a few occasions, that first appearance still eludes him.
The new year is a time for reflection, and that is exactly what the 19-year-old did when he took to social media recently.
He posted a video on his Twitter account which showed a montage of him for the youngsters so far this season alongside the message “Start to life at Leeds in 2021, more to come in 2022” – perhaps hinting that he might become a more prominent figure moving forward.
It was a video that Leeds fans certainly enjoyed, with many of them conveying messages of hope and support that they wanted to see him make that breakthrough into the first team in 2022:
“You are going to be a Leeds Legend, no doubt about that!”
